Rico Bakker is a Brazilian born Dutch co-founder and one of three at RTH Casting. He is a former professional performer, now fully focused on casting and creative talent development.

Rico’s background spans West End theatre, film, television, and international productions, including Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Apollo Theatre), Hairspray (London Coliseum), Aladdin (UK & Ireland tour and international productions), and the feature film Barbie. His screen credits also include The Royal Variety Performance and The One Show.

His experience as a swing, dance captain, and fight captain gives him a detailed understanding of ensemble structure, cover/alternate coverage, and the real demands placed on performers. Having worked across diverse creative environments, he brings a strong awareness of representation and inclusive storytelling, particularly across underrepresented communities.

He is also the co-founder of Steps Studios UK, a multi site creative studio company in Central London, providing him with direct access to emerging and established performers.

Now working exclusively in casting, Rico combines a performer informed perspective, a global network, and a commitment to forward thinking casting, making him a valuable collaborator for producers and directors seeking both excellence and authenticity.
